Prime Minister's Visit: Between March 1st and 3rd, 2025, PM Modi toured Gujarat, celebrating World Wildlife Day at Sasangir and embarking on a Gir National Park Jungle Safari, which led to an increased interest towards the park by tourists.
Extended Impact: The surge in tourism extended to the Barda Wildlife Sanctuary in Porbandar district, which saw visitors increase from 108 in February to 215 in March 2025.
Tourists are particularly drawn to the park's diverse Flora and Fauna in Gir National Park, including the famed Asiatic lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species.
