Gujarat Birding Tour

On arrival at Ahmedabad airport meet with our representative and leave for Little Rann of Kutch, en-route Egyptian and griffon vultures could be seen in the wetlands that are good for resident birds. Falcon, shikra, blue throat, rosy starling, black ibis, white pelican, gray and pond heron, pied, common and white-throated kingfisher, and other birds come into the property.

After lunch, depart for a drive in the Little Rann of Kutch, a sanctuary for the Indian wild ass. An ancient seabed turned by geological forces into saline desert plains, the Rann has grassy patches that offer good bird-watching. Numerous species of larks like crested or Sykes, wheatears, shrikes with vibrant colors, and many winter visiting warblers. You can sight ground dwelling species like sandgrouses and many old-world flycatchers flitting through the scrubs. In the evening get glimpses of antelopes and foxes or harriers, eagles, and falcons heading to their roosting sites. Overnight stay.

Morning after breakfast, drive to the 'bets', elevated patches in the Rann covered with scrub and grass. In winter, this is a likely area for Macqueen's bustard. Long-legged, common and white-eyed buzzard, booted eagle, Bonelli's eagle. short-toed snake eagles are often seen during the drive.

Visit NawaTalao lake in the evening, where demoiselle and common cranes, flamingos, great white pelicans, storks, ibis, and other birds gather during winter. Enjoy an overnight stay with a variety of birds, including various ducks, pratincoles, lapwings, sandpipers, and ruff, among others. Overnight Stay.

Another morning exploring the scrublands of Rann. As the sun rises, explore the land of raptors like imperial eagle, greater spotted eagle, peregrine falcon, Merlin, etc and water birds like flamingos, cranes, pelicans, storks, etc. Also keep an eye for desert Fox, Indian fox, hyena, jackal, Jungle cat, desert car and wolf etc.

Later return to the resort for fresh-n-up and breakfast.

After breakfast leave for Gir National Park. Upon arrival check into the wildlife resort. Overnight stay at the resort.

Gir National Park is home to a diverse wildlife population including panthers, sambars, chitals, nilgais, and wild boars. It is also home to the world's only four-horned antelope, chousingha, and chinkara. Birds in Gir include changeable hawk eagles, crested serpent eagles, Bonelli's eagles, Peregrine falcons, laggar falcons, quails, and more. Visitors can also observe various bird species, including drongos, treepies, and more. Later leave for Ahmedabad by road post breakfast. On reaching transfer to the airport for onward connection.
